Reclaimed Is So Hot Right Now!
this is the entrance to Leadnomics Corporate Office in the Cira Center that beautiful prism shaped highrise at the western edge of center city, Philadelphia. they were not pleased with the headache inducing wall paper and asked that i introduce something warmer and more inviting.
this was the result, a mix of various salvaged barn siding and bead boards from just a little further west in berks county. the curved wall is 8’ tall and 18’ long.
Poplar slice with reclaimed ash or hickory legs. i bought the legs in a huge bundle at a yard sale years ago and am not expert enough in my wood identifying skills…yet. the sawmill guy just gave me a pile of these slices. he wanted to use them for firewood. i like my idea better.

This started with a trip to Hearne Hardwoods where i picked up a stack of flitch sawn Black Walnut. An hour at Pappajohn’sWoodworking shop to use the wide planer. Next a trip to Recycling the Past in NJ for the Cast Iron Antique lathe stand. Throw in a trip to Joseph Fazio’s Metal Supply for the bolts and angle iron. A substantial amount of time in my shop and Ta-Da!
